'Writers on Writing' with bestselling author Matthew Ryan Davies

Local authors Matthew Ryan Davies and Karen Ginnane team up to talk about their journeys to publication and the power of literature to change the hearts and minds of readers. Matthew will explore the themes of his latest book, 'Things We Bury', and Karen will discuss her 'Time Catchers' series for young adult readers.

They  discuss the role of fiction, how it can be more than just a portal of escapism but a platform to bring important topics to the forefront. In this discussion these writers share how they use research and life experiences to bring authenticity to the story.

From Real to Weird.  This workshop will harness the riches that lurk in our subconscious to spark new worlds into being. With some quick-moving writing exercises to get us into the flow and harness our own imaginations, we’ll examine fantasy, the imagination, different ways of seeing and learn how to build a world.
